- And many young persons from across Asia and the Pacific.
What are the outputs of the event?
With a strong focus on foresight and scenario planning, this roundtable laid the groundwork for longer-term regional engagement by UNDP and other partners to create an enabling environment for youth to engage with the SDGs. More specifically:
- Research findings were shared to identify the conditions that enable or hinder youth participation.
- Innovative programmes were presented to provide examples of initiatives that enhance enabling conditions.
- Collaboration between young people and a wide range of stakeholders involved in (or supporting) governance, civic engagement and participation across the region was fostered.
- Elements (strategy and key outcomes, outputs, activities) for a regional initiative to support civil society, governments and youth engagement were identified.
