Dana Choi, Korea (Republic of)

Picture

Dana Choi is an undergraduate student studying Japanese Language Education at Konkuk University in Seoul, Republic of Korea. She is also the Co-Founder and Development Director at Child Zero, youth movement organisation tackling child hunger and illiteracy in the Philippines since 2013. She hopes to contribute to shaping a world that eradicates child illiteracy as she believes that youth can make a change and will play a crucial role in combating illiteracy throughout the world. During the 9th UNESCO Youth Forum Dana served as a youth delegate of Korea and delivered the voice of youth under the theme of “Young global citizens for a sustainable planet”. She also valued the opportunity of interacting with 500 young participants from all over the world to focus on issues related to climate change and the post-2015 Sustainable Development agenda. In addition, Dana has worked as a reporter for the Australian Embassy, the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ASEAN-Korea Centre. When she is not at work, Dana enjoys planning for trips to explore the other side of the world.
