Youth at the Heart of the SDGs:

#Case4Space Photo Competition 2017

The #Case4Space Photo Competition is now closed. Lasting for 8 weeks, the competition was aimed at raising awareness and advocating for civic space issues in Asia-Pacific through photography.

"Filipino theater isn't dead. Theater groups like the UP Repertory Company [in photo] prove that as long as art reflects narratives of the struggling and oppressed masses, it will continue to provide functional civic spaces for everyone to celebrate culture, reflect on history, and prepare for progress." – @bellathreex from the Philippines
We received over 200 photos from young people across Asia and the Pacific, submitted through Instagram and Facebook with the hashtag #Case4SpaceInsta. The open discussions and engagement on civic space issues has been incredible. Thank you for all the amazing contributions and also to our partners for their continued support.

A total of 15 pictures from 8 photographers –coming from all corners of the region– were selected by an independent Selection Committee to be displayed at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok. We have invited the winner to join us in Bangkok to present her art work at a conference taking place on 29 May-1 June 2017. Click here to Meet the Winners of the Photo Competition.
