SEGMENT 2: STATE OF YOUTH AND CIVIC SPACE IN ASIA AND THE PACIFIC
Global trends of shrinking civic spaces, and how young people are contributing to navigate these challenges in Asia and the Pacific in the context of the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), were illustrated with local and national-level case studies from across Asia and the Pacific. Thematic break-out sessions focusing on civic spaces in urban areas and the role of volunteerism were further analyzed the challenges and opportunities related to civic spaces and young people in the region.
